Why should you use Forest Salvaged Douglas Fir?
Superior Stability:
Forest salvaged timbers are lower in moisture content than traditionally harvested green timbers because much of the natural drying process has already taken place. You get a timber that will deliver minimal movement, shrinking, and checking. This results in a superior finished product in your projects.
Environmentally Friendly:
We use forest salvaged standing dead tress that have died due to beetle kill, root rot, or fire. This is an environmentally friendly source of high quality timbers. Many projects are calling for reclaimed, salvaged, or recycled material -- this is a great option.
Competitive Pricing:
You will find us very competitively priced, even compared with green material. If you are looking at typical salvaged or reclaimed timbers we may be as much as 60% less expensive. Cost doesn't have to be an issue in delivering an environmentally sound, stable product any more.
