Are homes sold as “kits”?

Our “kit” includes design, shipping, unloading, frame erection, and labor with no added fees.

What is the basic shell?

The Timber Frame, interior finish of exterior walls, roof (including vapor barrier) and insulation. At the finish of this “shell” the home is ready for mechanics. See "The Basic Shell" page for more information.

Does Timber Frames Inc. have plans? AIA’s?

We have designers on staff to design Timber Frame plans. We have worked with Architects who have also designed Timber Frame homes. Timber Frames Inc. has built over 200 homes, each of them unique.

How long does it take to build the Timber Frame?

Shells can be erected and water tight in 1-3 weeks.

Where does the Timber come from?

The Timber we use is supplied by a family owned company that uses sustainable methods for growing and harvesting their timber. It is High grade, surfaced four sides, timber, and ready to be cut in our shop.

What are there benefits of Timber Frame homes?

The Timber Frame method lends itself to more open floor plans that allow for complete insulation, that creates a more energy efficient home. Additional details can be found in the Energy Efficiency section of our site.
